Terms & Conditions

The terms on which we make this website available, and on which members, guests, speakers and partners take part in the Lugano Circle and in Lugano Summit 2027.

Last updated · August 2026

1. About these terms and who we are

These terms and conditions govern the use of www.luganosummit.org, membership of the Lugano Circle and its members' area, and participation in Lugano Summit 2027 — The Private Wealth Summit, held from 28 to 30 April 2027 at Hotel Splendide Royal, Riva Antonio Caccia 7, 6900 Lugano, Switzerland.

Your contracting party in all cases is:

Scytale Research EOOD
5 Slavyanska Street, floor 2, Sredets district, Sofia 1000, Bulgaria
info@luganosummit.org

We are referred to in these terms as "the organiser", "we" or "us"; the person using the site, holding a membership or attending the summit is referred to as "you". Further company and publisher details are set out in the Imprint.

The summit is presented in partnership with BIL Suisse, and Hotel Splendide Royal is the host venue. Neither is a party to the contract between you and us.

2. Acceptance

By using this website, by applying to the Lugano Circle, by using the members' area or by registering for the summit, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site or take part.

Any conflicting or supplementary terms of your own apply only where we have agreed to them in writing. Where you have entered into a separate written agreement with us — for attendance, a speaking engagement, a sponsorship or a partnership — that agreement prevails over these terms for the matters it covers, and these terms continue to apply in all other respects.

Where you accept these terms on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that the organisation is bound by them.

3. Use of the website

We make this website available for information about the summit, the Lugano Circle and our partners. You may view, download and print its content for your own personal or internal business use.

You agree not to:

  • use automated means to access, index, copy or extract content from the site, including scraping, crawling or the harvesting of contact details;
  • circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access control, in particular that protecting the members' area;
  • interfere with the operation, integrity or security of the site, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it or to any system or network connected to it;
  • use the site to transmit malware, spam or any unlawful, defamatory or infringing material; or
  • use material obtained from the site to compile a competing directory, mailing list or database.

We may change, suspend or withdraw the site or any part of it at any time. We do not warrant that the site will be available without interruption or free from error.

4. Intellectual property

All content on this site — text, photographs, video, graphics, layout, design and source code — is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights and belongs to us or to our licensors. The names "Lugano Summit", "Decentralized Lugano", "The Private Wealth Summit" and "The Lugano Circle", and the associated logos and wordmarks, are ours.

Third-party marks, company names, logos and speaker portraits remain the property of their respective owners and are used with permission for the purpose of describing the programme and documenting past editions.

Except as expressly permitted in section 3, you may not reproduce, republish, adapt, translate, distribute or commercially exploit any part of the site, or any material published in the members' area, without our prior written consent.

5. Member accounts and the Lugano Circle

The Lugano Circle is a standing, curated membership. It is a forum for exchange between principals, allocators, operators and founders; it is not a club deal, a syndicate or an investment vehicle, and section 12 applies to everything that passes within it.

Access to the members' area is by invitation only. There is no public or self-service registration. We issue an invitation to the email address of an individual who has been admitted to the Circle; that individual then sets their own password. An account cannot be obtained by any other route, and we may decline to issue one without stating reasons.

Membership and the account attached to it are personal to the individual admitted. Neither may be transferred, shared or exercised on behalf of another person or entity. In particular:

  • you must keep your credentials confidential and must not disclose, share, sell or transfer them;
  • you must not permit anyone else — including a colleague, an assistant or a family member — to sign in as you or to use your account;
  • you are responsible for everything done through your account; and
  • you must tell us without delay at info@luganosummit.org if you believe your credentials have been lost, disclosed or used without your authority.

Membership benefits are those described to you at the time of admission and may be adjusted from time to time. Any subscription or other financial terms of membership are agreed with each member individually in writing and are not published on this website.

We may change, suspend or discontinue the members' area or any feature of it. Access is not warranted to be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not undertake to retain the content of an account after access ends.

6. Applications and admission

The Lugano Summit is a curated event and the Lugano Circle is a curated membership. A registration, an application or a request for an invitation is an application, not a booking or an entitlement. A contract comes into existence only when we confirm your participation or your admission in writing.

Applications to the Circle are considered by the membership committee, which decides at its discretion and is not required to state reasons.

We may accept or decline any registration, application or request at our sole discretion and without stating reasons, and we may withdraw a confirmation where the information supplied to us proves to be inaccurate or incomplete, where the agreed terms are not met, or where admission would in our reasonable judgement be inconsistent with the character of the event or the interests of other guests and members.

The information you give us in an application must be accurate and kept up to date. How we handle it is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Attendance, passes and partnerships

Every guest must register in their own name. Admission is subject to presentation of a valid pass and, where we ask for it, proof of identity. The organiser and the venue may refuse admission on security grounds.

Passes are personal. They may not be transferred, resold, shared or offered as part of a promotion or a prize without our prior written consent. A pass presented by someone other than the named holder may be voided and the holder refused admission.

We publish no commercial terms on this website. Attendance, speaking, sponsorship and bespoke partnerships are arranged individually. The terms that apply to you — what is included, the deliverables and timetable where a partnership is involved, and all financial terms, including any fees, the currency, the treatment of taxes and bank charges, the payment schedule and the consequences of late or non-payment — are set out in a separate written agreement between you and us, or in the written confirmation we issue to you. Nothing on this site is a price list, a quotation or an offer capable of acceptance.

Passes cover only the elements of the programme expressly included in them. Unless your agreement says otherwise, travel, accommodation, transfers, insurance and personal expenses are not included and are arranged and borne by you. Where an amount is due and has not been settled by the start of the event, we may withhold admission or the agreed partnership benefits until it is.

7.1 Cancellation by you

Cancellations must be notified to us in writing at info@luganosummit.org and take effect when we receive them. Places are limited and our costs are committed a long way in advance, so cancellation terms — including any deadlines and the treatment of amounts already paid — are agreed individually and are set out in your separate written agreement or confirmation. They are not published on this website. Please read your own agreement before you book travel, and note that non-attendance is not the same as cancellation.

7.2 Substitution

A named attendee may be replaced by a colleague of comparable seniority, provided we are notified in writing at least five working days before the event and the substitute is acceptable to us on the same curatorial basis as an original registration. Any charge for a substitution is governed by your agreement. A substitution does not extend or renew any cancellation right.

8. Changes to the programme

The programme, the speakers, the session formats and the timings published on this website and in our communications are indicative. We may substitute speakers, change or reorder sessions and adjust timings where circumstances require, and we will keep any such change consistent with the overall character and standing of the event. A change of speaker or session does not entitle a participant to cancel free of charge or to a refund.

8.1 Cancellation or postponement by us

We may cancel, postpone, shorten, relocate or move online all or part of the event where this is necessary for reasons beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, fire, flood, epidemic or pandemic, official measures or travel restrictions, strike, terrorism, civil unrest, war, failure of the venue or of essential infrastructure, or the unavailability of a substantial part of the programme.

In that case we will notify participants as soon as we reasonably can, and your remedy is, at our election and taking account of your preference where practicable, the transfer of your participation to the following edition of the summit or a refund on the terms of your agreement. Beyond that we accept no liability, and in particular we do not reimburse travel, accommodation, visa, insurance or other costs incurred in connection with your intended attendance. Participants are strongly advised to arrange flexible travel bookings and their own cancellation insurance.

9. Code of conduct at events

The Lugano Summit depends on the trust of the people in the room. We ask every participant to observe the following:

  • Respect. Treat other guests, speakers, staff and venue personnel with courtesy. Harassment, intimidation and discriminatory conduct of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Discretion. Many guests attend in a private capacity. Do not disclose the identity, attendance or affairs of another participant outside the event without their agreement.
  • No unsolicited solicitation. The summit is not a sales floor. Distributing promotional material, cold-pitching guests or approaching principals with investment propositions outside the formats provided for it is not permitted. Only official partners may present commercially, and then only within the scope agreed with us in writing.
  • Chatham House Rule. Where a session is announced as being held under the Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of any speaker or participant may be revealed.
  • Venue rules. The house rules and the safety instructions of Hotel Splendide Royal and of our security staff apply throughout and must be followed.

We may exclude from the event, without refund and without prejudice to any other remedy, any participant who breaches these expectations, whose conduct disrupts the programme, or whose presence is in our reasonable judgement incompatible with the interests of other guests.

10. Photography, filming and recording

The summit is professionally photographed and filmed, and sessions may be recorded, streamed and published. By attending, you accept that you may appear in photographs and recordings made in the public areas of the venue and during the programme, and you grant us the right to use that material to document the event, to publish it in the members' archive and to promote future editions. How we handle this, and how to object, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Participants may not record, film or stream sessions themselves without our prior written consent, and may not record any session announced as being held under the Chatham House Rule or as off the record.

Material in the members' archive is made available to you as a member for your own use. You may not download and republish it, share it outside the membership or use it commercially without our written consent, and you must respect the wishes of anyone who appears in it.

11. Member content, comments and conduct online

The members' area lets you complete a profile that other signed-in members can see, reserve seats at convenings, and like and comment on briefings. Comments are visible to every signed-in member.

You are responsible for what you publish. You must not post anything that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, misleading, confidential to someone else or infringing of a third party's rights, and you must not post promotional or solicitation material. You retain ownership of what you write, and you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute it within the members' area for the purpose of operating the Circle.

We may remove any content that breaches these terms, and organisers may delete a comment without notice. We do not pre-screen member content and are not responsible for it.

The member directory, the convening calendar, the attendee lists and the briefings are made available to you for your own use as a member. You may not copy, export, scrape or systematically extract the directory or any part of it, use member details to send unsolicited approaches or marketing, or pass any member's details to a third party without that member's agreement. The obligations in section 9 on discretion and solicitation apply in the members' area exactly as they apply in the room.

12. No investment, legal or tax advice

Nothing presented at the summit, published on this website or in the members' area, distributed in our materials, or said or exchanged within the Lugano Circle is, or is to be construed as:

  • an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to buy any security, financial instrument, fund interest, digital asset or other financial product;
  • an invitation or inducement to engage in investment activity;
  • a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything; or
  • investment, financial, legal, tax, accounting or regulatory advice.

It is provided for general information and discussion only.

No advisory, fiduciary, brokerage or agency relationship arises between you and us from attending the summit, from reading this site, from receiving our communications or from membership of the Circle. We are not an investment adviser, a broker-dealer, a placement agent or a distributor, we are not authorised or regulated as any of those, and we receive no commission, retrocession or other remuneration for introducing capital to an opportunity.

The Circle does not broker, distribute, arrange or facilitate any transaction. It curates a room and a conversation, and nothing more. We do not source, screen, endorse, diligence or recommend investment opportunities; we do not verify what a member or a speaker says about one; and we take no responsibility for any transaction participants may go on to conclude between themselves. Any dealing between members is a matter for those members alone, at their own risk and on their own documentation.

Members and participants must not use the summit, the Circle or the members' area to solicit. That means, in particular, no raising of capital, no marketing or placement of a fund, deal, token or product, no distribution of offering material, and no unsolicited approach to another member or guest with an investment proposition — whether in the room, at the margins of the programme, or through the directory, the attendee lists, the comments or the messaging features of the members' area. Commercial presentation is reserved to official partners, within the scope agreed with us in writing. We may exclude a participant or withdraw a membership for breach of this paragraph.

Views expressed by speakers, sponsors, members and other participants are their own and are not endorsed by the organiser or by BIL Suisse. Any investment opportunity that may be mentioned is subject in every case to separate documentation, to the applicable eligibility, suitability and appropriateness requirements, and to the selling restrictions of the relevant jurisdictions. Certain content is intended only for professional, institutional or qualified investors and is not directed at, or suitable for, retail investors or any person in a jurisdiction where its distribution would be unlawful. You should take independent professional advice before acting on anything you read or hear. The value of investments can fall as well as rise, and past performance is not a guide to future returns.

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

We prepare the content of this website and of the members' area with care, but we do not warrant that it is complete, accurate or up to date, and it is provided without warranty of any kind so far as the law permits. Programme details, speakers, session timings and venue arrangements are subject to change.

We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and in any other case where liability cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory law.

Otherwise, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is excluded. In particular we accept no liability for:

  • travel, accommodation, transfer or visa costs;
  • loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, investment loss, or other indirect or consequential loss;
  • the acts or omissions of other participants, members, speakers, sponsors or third-party suppliers, or for any dealing you enter into with them;
  • the loss or theft of personal property at the venue; or
  • interruption, error or unavailability of the website or the members' area, or loss of data held in an account.

Where liability for slight negligence in respect of a material contractual obligation cannot be excluded, it is limited to the foreseeable damage typical of this type of contract and in no event exceeds the amount paid by the participant concerned under the agreement giving rise to the claim.

Participants attend the event at their own risk and are responsible for arranging their own travel, health and cancellation insurance.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us and hold us harmless against any claim, liability, loss, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your breach of these terms, your misuse of the website or the members' area, the content you publish in the members' area, or any conduct of yours at the summit that causes loss or damage to us, to the venue or to another participant. This does not apply to the extent that the claim arises from our own intent or gross negligence, and nothing in this section limits any right you have under mandatory law.

15. Data protection

Personal data provided through this website, through the members' area or in connection with the summit is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms and explains what we collect, why, on what legal basis, who we share it with and what rights you have.

Members should note in particular that a member profile is a directory entry visible to every other signed-in member, that the attendee list for a convening is visible to members, and that comments on briefings are visible to members.

16. Termination and suspension of access

We may suspend or withdraw access to the website, to the members' area or to any part of it at any time — including for breach of these terms, for the protection of other members or the security of the service, on the ending of a membership, or where we discontinue a feature.

Membership may be suspended or withdrawn where a member breaches these terms or the Circle's conduct expectations, where the basis on which the member was admitted no longer applies, or where continued membership would in the committee's reasonable judgement be inconsistent with the interests of the Circle. Where membership is withdrawn other than for breach, the treatment of the unexpired part of the membership period is as set out in the member's own written agreement.

You may close your account at any time by writing to info@luganosummit.org. On termination your directory entry is withdrawn from view and your right to use the members' area ends. Sections 4, 10, 12, 13, 14, 17 and 18 survive termination.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

The courts of Sofia, Bulgaria have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms. This is without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection provision of the law of the country in which a participant acting as a consumer is habitually resident, and to any mandatory place of jurisdiction on which such a consumer is entitled to rely.

Information on the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is set out in the Imprint.

18. Severability

If any provision of these terms is or becomes invalid, unenforceable or incomplete, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected. The invalid, unenforceable or missing provision is to be replaced by a valid provision that comes as close as possible to the commercial purpose the parties intended.

Our failure to enforce any provision of these terms is not a waiver of it.

19. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms from time to time to reflect changes in the way we work, in the services we offer or in the law. The version published on this page is always the one in force, and the date at the head of the page shows when it was last revised.

Where a change materially affects members or confirmed participants, we will draw it to their attention. Continued use of the website or the members' area after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the amended terms. The terms in force at the time your participation was confirmed continue to govern that participation.
